The Algaebe golf boom made it necessary to expand Vila Sol by 9 holes in the early 2000s.
The old course 1-18 is top notch and doesn't need to hide behind the big Algarve courses, on the contrary! Holes 18-27 are a bit bland and a little boring for my taste.
So always focus on holes 1-18…:-) !

With a 27-hole course, the entrance is often not hole 1 but 10 or 19. The starter or caddy master is therefore of particular importance. However, if he only instructs him unwillingly and imprecisely, there is unnecessary back and forth. We were charged €10 each for the trolleys, when I asked why this was significantly higher than on other places (especially Pestana places). the disarming answer "we are a 27 hole course". You really can't discuss that, either you go or you pay. We stayed, played the round and were - like some prescribers - not particularly impressed by this place. You can play it if your goal is to have played all the courses in the Algarve once, but that's not our goal, we won't play Vilo Sol anymore.
