Characteristics

Palmares Golf is a unique combination of undulating hills and flat areas with overwhelming views over the steep coast of the Algarve. The good reputation of the course can be deducted on the almost perfect combination of two different landscapes. Here you can experience how downright perfectly the Links and the inland course have been combined.

Dissatisfied customer

Very unhappy, live on the algarve, golf course is overrated, and overpriced. I have played here three times and never again. Each game I played took far too long, with constant hold ups through slow play in front. The marshals serve no purpose, and do not encourage slow groups to increase there pace. On several tees people are selling lost golf balls, which should not be allowed on the course. The course is looking tired, fairways bare, tees not in good condition. Espiche is far better, and more cost effective.

Very varied

A year later than the last review, it was now green almost everywhere. Marshal said the heavy rain front had done the course good. Sufficient parking spaces including a parking garage with electric charging stations. Clubhouse/restaurant stylish, chic in pink exposed concrete and a luxury ambience. Driving range further away. You can ask a marshal to drive you there. Good, with 6 € tokens played 10 - 27. The middle 9 are wonderfully hilly doglegs with a fantastic view of the lagoon. The Praia 9 then go into the lagoon on the left. Sometimes you don't know where to aim. Full of bunkers, including in the fairway and grassy hills. Once slightly too far to the right and I carried on playing in the dunes.
Long paths and no signs on the green. Everyone was looking for the next tee. A short, approximate sign would have helped. Played with a carry bag in the heat. When I called the club, the marshal came with water. The 5th star goes to Golfamore, otherwise it would be too expensive at €136/p

Good place, current condition poor

All in all, the place is great in terms of design. 3 9-hole loops that can be combined in different ways.

However, the condition was not good enough. The greens had extremely bare spots and the fairways were too dry. As compensation, you received a soft drink from the mobile food truck. That's nice, but a significant reduction in the green fee would be appropriate.

If the place is back in top condition, it will be close to 5 stars. So it's too expensive
