Characteristics

Set in a valley in the inner Algarve, between Portimão and Monchique, Morgado Golf course is a challenge both for those taking their first steps in golf as for the more experienced player, who would like to test his technique. The scorecard shows a PAR 73, but the course path length is attenuated by the generous width of fairways. However, less accurate strokes may be penalized by the action of one of several bunkers spread across the field. We can say that the Morgado Golf is a course with the characteristics of a links - with flat fairways and Scottish inspiration bunkers - but instead of being close to the shore as traditional links, it is inserted into an area of parkland. Surrounded by the region traditional tree species, the player who visits Morgado Golf contacts with a different Algarve, calm and serene, providing the perfect setting for a memorable round.

Álamos Golf course is a short but stunning test for golf. Having stunning views of the Monchique mountains, lakes and farmland, there is a real sense of getting away from it all here. It is shorter than Morgado (Par 71) but it has all the features necessary to fulfil the expectations of the most demanding player.

More than a test of golf, this is a course which attests to the harmony which may be achieved between the man-made and nature itself.

Challenging and enjoyable

We were 2 x 3 ball this October and played Alamos first which we found in great shape with the greens near championship quality. We played Morgado a week later and found this to be a little more forgiving but the greens are still very fast but true.
This is our 6th year playing here and it's getting better all the time with a staff that have personality and a can do attitude that makes golf here a pleasure. Keep up the good work.

Good golf

Morgado is forgiving. Wayward shots off the tee will be found either in low rough or the fairway. You can read the greens. Grass is close to links quality. It's in the countryside with no buildings surrounding the fairways.
Friendly staff. Nice clubhouse.

PLAYED IN SEPTEMBER 2011

THIS COURSE HAS EVERYTHING! WATER HAZARDS RAISED GREENS & SOME WELL POSITIONED BUNKERS, IN MY OPINION THE MORE PRETTY OF THE TWO REQUENGO COURSES, HAVE PLAYED IT ON MANY OCCASIONS IN THE PAST AND FOR A MID HANDICAPPER (16) IFEEL IT GIVES ALL PLAYERS A FAIR CHANCE THE BUGGY TRACKS NEED TO BE IMPROVED, BUT AS AND WHEN THEY ARE I BELIEVE THIS WILL BE THE MORE POPULAR COURSE OF THE TWO COURSES.
