Nestled between the Atlantic ocean and the RietVlei river, this lush links-type course is relatively flat with few trees. But with the sea and the lagoon bordering most holes, and the 7 beautiful water holes waiting to claim the wayward shot, it offers a truly unique golfing experience! Typical of many links-type courses, you will play the first 9 holes out, enjoy a light meal at the halfway house, and then return back to the clubhouse via the second 9. On most holes, the sound of the waves breaking on the shore just metres away will remain long after your game is over. The spectacular view of Table Mountain from almost every hole is breathtaking, while the nature lovers will be thrilled at the abundance of water birds on the bordering river. Awesome. Something really special. The course is naturally dry. There are many areas under repair. The ground is hard. The marshes smelled a bit. There was bird droppings at one point. I generally rate the overall package. Otherwise, only Valderama in winter would have received 5*.
The reception was super friendly. It runs south-north parallel to the beautiful white beach with no fences. With a 30 km southerly tailwind, the drive is at 250.
Across the wind into the swamps. Hitting the green is tough. Then back into the wind. 190 m drive. The par 4 is difficult. It was mown heavily. Is that always the case? This leaves plenty of space next to the fairway. Awesome terrace in the clubhouse, right on the sandy beach.

Course played on February 13,2025 The phenomenal view of Table Mountain and the Atlantic Ocean has been mentioned several times and is definitely worth a round.
However, the course itself couldn't keep up. There were lots of yellow or weedy areas on the fairways. The greens were quite fast, but in some places they were very bumpy and didn't keep the course at all. Some of the bunkers had lots of stones, which put a lot of strain on the clubs.

The Milnerton Golf Course is without question one of the most beautiful locations in Cape Town - right on the Atlantic with a breathtaking view of Table Mountain. The scenery alone makes a round here a special experience.
Unfortunately, the course itself cannot quite keep up with the surroundings. The links layout does offer an interesting challenge, especially when the wind picks up, but the maintenance of the fairways and greens sometimes leaves a lot to be desired. In addition, the course can be quite unforgiving when there is a lot of wind, which somewhat reduces the fun of the game.
The clubhouse is nice and offers a great view.
