Characteristics
La Zagaleta is one of the youngest golf courses at the Costa del Sol. In the middle of a nature reserve this course overwhelms with a varied flora and fauna. The fantastic view over the mountains from Benhavis to Gibraltar is however reserved to members and their guests only. All in all it's said to be one of the most beautiful courses at the Costa del Sol.

If you're lucky enough to play here.. do it! Stunning views, incredible conditions, challenging courses and maybe the best lunch in any clubhouse in the world. The staff is exemplary!

When you have played on this course, you will be at a loss for words afterwards... and a few balls. In this magnificent mountain landscape, you almost only play from terraced hills over ravines down into the valley and finish on extremely fast greens. You pick up the ball and drive the GPS-equipped buggies back up to the next tee on top paths. The very well-maintained, green-like fairways are often very narrow and require an accurate shot, otherwise the ball is gone, really gone! Sometimes you just stop, look around and can't believe what you are offered here, and the green fee is also accordingly. The very friendly welcome and the service on the course (drinks and sandwiches) is remarkable. The loss of balls is bearable and you have the opportunity to buy balls from some street vendors on the way to the golf course, next year they will be my lost balls. This course is simply fabulous!
