The 18-hole-course of the Is Arenas Golf & Country Club is distinguished by an almost perfect combination of sandy dunes, forests, the sea and an excellent climate. Since the end of 2000 the second 9 holes have been finished and complete the worthwhile course.

Beautiful and peaceful golf course and Foresteria embedded in a splendid nature and pinewood forrest

We spend 1 week in Is Arenas golf and Foresterie Boutique Resort (Foresteria degli ulivi). We had a very pleasant stay and Sardinian vacations there! When we arrived, we had a very warm welcome from Ilona and got introduced to the whole team. We received an enchanting "Mediterranean" room with lot of attention to details. The cook (Monica) did an excellent job and spoiled us every evening with a new refined Sardinian dinner with fresh and very local food! Extra beverages (wine or soda) and e.g. sandwiches for lunchtime were available for decent prices (and they very good too!).
The golf course and the Foresteria degli Ulivi were greatly embedded in the pinewoods. The private beach was in 5-10min walking distance. The whole area is extremely calm and the nature respected. There were basically no other tourists around.
The course was immaculate. As there were not many people we could start and play whenever we wanted. There was no stress and time to enjoy the nature and the beauty of the course… and to search for balls in the rough… (the fairways are rather narrow and a straight drive is favorable ;-)). But if you don’t locate your ball, then maybe a turtle can be found in the rough and make you happy again. We had a calm and relaxing time there. An experience that should certainly be repeated.

I played Is Arenas on September 9th, 2024 and I'm still overwhelmed. The course is completely secluded in the middle of the forest and you're almost alone. I didn't see any other players during the entire round. The clubhouse is a simple wooden hut, but it does offer a few small items and drinks. The staff is very nice and helpful. Since you can't pass the clubhouse during the round, there are free water dispensers on many of the holes. The course itself is a dream. Well maintained with fast greens and many interesting holes. Fairways, water hazards, bunkers and waste areas, everything is tip top. If the green fee of EUR 160 is too high for you, you should get the Golfamore card beforehand. Then you can get in for EUR 80. If you're in Sardinia and want to have a great round, you should definitely play this course. However, if you're expecting a clubhouse with a restaurant, you've come to the wrong place and can save yourself the trip.

We have played many courses abroad and this course is in the top 10. The care and fairways and greens are a dream.
The club manager was very helpful and the people were very nice and uncomplicated, even though it was a private place with 50 members.
