Located 55 kilometers north of Salvador's International Airport, and 20 kilometers from Costa do Sauípe and its golf course, Iberostar Praia do Forte Golf Club is situated in a resort of the Spanish chain Iberostar.
Designed by P.B. Dye, son of golf legend Pete Dye, Iberostar Praia do Forte Golf Club is an authentic links – the lack of trees between fairways and the naturally undulating land, along with its proximity to the sea and the strong and unrelenting wind, leave no doubt about that. However, there is no point in trying to compare it to the Scottish links because, unlike golf’s homeland, in Bahia the sun is consistent and hot.
The three last holes of Iberostar run along the shoreline, ensuring fascinating sights (and even stronger winds, making the play more challenging). To increase the challenge, the sand bunkers designed by P. B. Dye are deep and numerous. For golf fanatics – and this means most of us – hitting the ball into one of those bunkers may be their only contact with sand during their vacation despite the close proximity of the beach.

Enjoyable links golf in beautiful beachside location

A visit to Iberostar Praia do Forte Golf on Sunday 9 October 2022 was a joy from our arrival at this beautiful challenging golf course What a lovely surprise and value for money. I would highly recommend a visit here for golfers of all levels.
A warm welcome from the professional with coffee and pastries available.
The links type course is well laid out with challenging tee shots from the back tees yet fair off the forward tees for higher handicap golfers, Sandy open fairways with good approach shots to well laid out greens. The greens were slow on the day of our visit which is my only criticism. The last three holes are beachfront and end a very enjoyable round of golf. A bar and a local food stall beside the 18th hole were excellent.
