The young Golf Club Lägern enjoys visistation rights on the Golf Park Otelfingen in the attractive region of the Furt-Valley, close to Zurich. The course was gently integrated into the existing terrain and presents next to water, ponds and pools few trees and forest. An excellent course which is not difficult to negotiate, however the greens can be speeded up a bit and the grass along fairways trimmed, as it lays a premium on keeping it straight. Anything moderately off the fairway is lost due to the dense grass.

Otelfingen is a relatively challenging course, which I think is good. It has a lot of water and narrow fairways. The greens have become faster in recent years. Considering how crowded the course is (on weekends you have to book early enough to get a tee time), the course is very well maintained. The new bunkers in particular make the course even more exciting and varied. The clubhouse is beautifully located on the 18th hole and invites you to enjoy a refreshing drink after the round. One star is deducted only because of the number of players on the course.
Conclusion: Very good place to practice and play tournaments.

I have a lot of positive things to say about this course (see my other reviews). But this year the bunkers are being rebuilt. And it's taking up a lot of space. The result: lots of "lost" balls because you're no longer allowed to get them in the GUR. The members are pretty upset. So my tip to non-Migros players: forget about the course this year and don't come back until 2025. That will save you a lot of trouble.
