Today, in beautiful weather, we had the opportunity to play a round on the championship course. The first thing we noticed was the very beautiful, spacious and well-maintained practice facility. Just practicing is simply great!
As foreigners, we were surprised that we were not able to pay with a credit card. We were really surprised. Luckily, we had enough cash with us.
There are no starting times; this is on a weekend. This would be mandatory if there were a lot of people going! Then "locals" would not simply "provoke" a "right of way" or a "pushing in" between them.
The condition of the championship course is basically very good. Unfortunately, the bunkers had to sacrifice their sand due to the storms. This had to be used - or so we were told - for the sandbags on the Neckar :-(.
We would have liked the bunkers to have been maintained, the edges to have been neatly trimmed and the plants growing in them to have been removed. The greens were in top condition, except for the holes. These were not neatly trimmed. It felt as if the holes had not been moved for at least a week.
Nevertheless, despite its young age (10 years), it is a very beautiful and beautifully located facility.
We hope that our criticisms will be taken as suggestions for improvement!

Yesterday I played again on Handicap Day in Tübingen and I have to say that the condition of the course has improved enormously. The greens were cared for much better in 2023 and now in February 2024, when you shouldn't expect much due to the time of year, I was really surprised at how good the condition is. Of course they're pretty dull at the moment, but they're definitely better than anything I wrote in my last review.
If you take the green fee on handicap day into account, the price/performance ratio would of course be 5 stars plus, but even with the full green fee I would be happy to upgrade the course to 4 stars. There are still a few details missing in order to move up to the category of leading courses, and not everything in the layout is to my liking (keyword: hole 11 - green on a par 3 that is inaccessible for "normal-length" players, or the missing one Dropping zone at track 17), but that is of course subjective, like every evaluation here. I say: keep it up and you are on the right path.
