Characteristics
The Lugenhof rural estate with its 18-hole course is situated in a scenic holiday region at Lake Constance. Nestling in a gently sloped landscape, the 18 holes are ornated with fruit trees and water features and provide a terrific view of the surrounding landscape, the Alps, and Lake Constance.
Even though it is not too difficult for beginners, the course still provides experienced golfers with a testing challenge.

... that's what the club was originally called when we first stuck the teas here in 2000. Often we didn't play here, and missed the great view of Lake Constance and the Alps, which is actually a shame - especially in this imperial weather.
It is certainly not one of our favorites around Lake Constance, responsible for that are the numerous blind holes - blind drive landing zone and blind greens.
It is a good course in not entirely flat terrain, the crossovers are partly neat, they make for sportiness. It is easy to play in good conditions - six par 4s do not measure 350 meters - provided the ball is successfully placed. If not, if you have a difficult stroke into the green, then the par will be difficult. In addition, there is a lot of space, if a drive is not straight, it is a very spacious system. The very robust grass does not give a few free meters and it plays very hard - it was mowed a little too high today. The greens are good - not that difficult - were slow, dull today.
Care and maintenance good, meets expectations. It's great that the rough wasn't mowed yet, the contours of the holes are beautifully drawn. Disadvantage, the balls are gone when they land in them - have also deposited some.
During our excursion to Lake Constance we also played Erlen (Switzerland), a comparable system. There are worlds in between - these are convincing in a direct comparison.

If we compare the courses around Lake Constance and consider the best in the country, then four stars are a good rating.

Very well-kept, varied golf course with great fairways and good, fast greens.
Fantastic views of Lake Constance and Säntis.
But you should be able to walk or take a cart. The height differences are considerable!
The gastronomy was great in terms of offer and service on a wonderful terrace!
I only give 5 * to absolute world-class places (so far about 20 out of 600), but Owingen only gets 4+ because of a small deficit:
