Golf among mammoth trees in the castle garden

An 18-hole round under 250-year-old Sequoia giant trees increases the desire to play a good score on the rather demanding tracks. Because even on the short par-4 lanes (280 to 350 m), only well-placed punches make for a par. Most greens are effectively defended by wide and deep bunkers, precision when approaching the flag is paramount. In the beautiful parkland with many exotic trees and bushes are missing only bodies of water, so that ball losses are extremely rare. The multiple crossing of a busy street requires additional attention, but is not a disruptive factor in the game flow. On two of the par 3 courses, distances up to 190 meters do not allow easy birdie for each player. Some sloping fairways cause curious layers of the ball, sometimes up to 50 m away from the landing point. Despite the extreme dryness since spring, the fairways are still in a pretty green state, all 18 greens are immaculate lush green, but a little too sanded. In the secretariat, the friendly and above all golf-competent information of the charming staff invites to a quick repetition of a guest tour. If you love parkland courses and classic ambience, the place is an absolute must.
The fairways all not very long, but in late April already in very good condition. The old trees absolutely worth seeing. Staff and players very friendly (was allowed to play through as a single player 2x).
Unusual for such a place: 2 mats (lanes 2 & 16), and the fact that lane 18 passes over the driving range (once the bell rings, and the play operation on the range is stopped until the playgroup has passed the range).

The place was long on the list of places that I once wanted to have played. That's why I signed up for a round of men's golf in 2017, as well as the green fee prices are much cheaper.
The park and the driveway to the hotel are very impressive.
The condition was really good. When you play it for the first time, it's not that easy. Partly also a bit strange tracks. I had not counted on the mats on several lanes, but to be honest. These are probably due to the tall trees and therefore not enough sun. The roads you cross several times, are also quite busy, which of course you hear on the square.
All in all, a nice golf afternoon, but I'm not sure if I want to play it again. There are places in the Rhine-Main area that I like much better.
