GOLF SON PARC MENORCA.The island’s only golf course.

Open 365 days of the year, Golf Son Parc Menorca, located in the urbanization of Son Parc in the north coast of the island, offers its multiple services to fully enjoy this sport in a natural environment.

The urbanization has apart – hotels, chalets and private apartments, medical and pharmacy services and a beach near de Golf course.

Golf competitions are organised throughout the year with a calendar that includes official competitions and organised by the Balearic Federation, competitions for children and the Menorca Open, which takes place during the golf week celebrated in May with local, national and international players. All competitions are open to members and visitors.

TECHNICAL DETAILS

The course was opened in 1977 and today it has 18 holes PAR 71 a high quality competition course redesigned by the well know course architect Dave Thomas (creator of many prestigious courses such as San Roque and Brabazon, where the Ryder Cup was held at The Belfry). The distances from the tees are:

• White 5438 mts
• Yellow 5103 mts.
• Blue 4770 mts
• Red 4465 mts

It has a round of PAR 3 and 4 for beginners in orange colour with a total of 2778mts.

Golf Son Parc Menorca is special for many reasons. Offering a natural, relaxing and fascinating golfing experience. The course is as competitive as it is picturesque, the 18 hole surrounded by pine woods with a narrow flat layout. Difficulties can arise on windy days, on the new holes where there is a dog-leg, near the wide well defined greens and on the holes with a water feature. On one side of the course is bordered by an extensive wet area. Rocky bunkers, the lakes, the wild canes and the colony of Peacocks are some of the distinctive characteristics of the course. There are many strategically thought out obstacles and bunkers giving way to a very technical layout characterised by its undulating greens which offer a challenge not only to the beginner golfer but also the experts. There is also a Driving Range, a putting green and a chipping area, all this is visible from the terrace of the Bar-Restaurant.

Golf School

The golf school is open to anyone interested in learning the game of golf in a quiet and peaceful environment.

Our golf professional Gustavo Flammia, is available throughout the week from Wednesday to Sunday, mornings and afternoons, to meet the demand of new players and to help improve the technique of those who have already achieved a certain level.

Lessons in general can be individual or for groups and we offer special courses for Companies

Gustavo Flammia is Italian-Argentine golf pro. His first profession is Architecture and he then went on to become a golf teaching Professional in 2005, becoming a member of the Spanish PGA. In October 2009 he participated and earned his degree for the Certified Fitness Professional TPI1 a course organised by the Spanish Federation during the golf trade fair in Madrid.

He has achieved the following golf titles:

2006 2nd position on the Campeonato Nacional de Monitores de golf Dunas de Doña Ana

1990 2nd position on the Campeonato Nacional Menores Golf Club Las Praderas de Lujan – Argentina

SCHOOL FOR CHILDREN

The Golf School for children starts with the school season, which normal starts at mid September until the end of June during all weekends.
