Golf Resort Karlštejn

Great castle view

I wanted to review this course on my golf social media and since I did not play for last 10 years, I came with my friend to see the changes.
Karlstejn has style that is for sure, from 1st meters behind the gate you see Czech golf history and lot of money spent. In past it was home of celebrities and spoiled rich people. Its probably still is, but since Czech golf industry is developing fast, they change a bit here as well. Big parking lot, great welcome service, everything clean, well maintain that is standard for this place and I would say must for the money charged. We felt welcome, receptionist very very helpful and supportive. Great service at the restaurant, food was nothing special but OK. Training facilities are 3 steps from reception, just great. What we did not a get that on such a course you can hit from driving mat only, bit surprising. They do have 27 holes there. Will say it right from beginning the C course is nothing special. We played combination A/C. 1st tee is next to putting green with very easy and nice opening par 5, than you go to tee #2 where everybody start taking pics of the castle. Very beautiful, and its what making this course what it is. Without it, as my playing partner said its just another ordinary course. Nevertheless than you go up and down and you enjoy view and playing on well maintained course. Greens in past were much harder now they are perfect, we had them bit slower but that is OK. As I already mentioned front nine was great. Roughs were quite thick and difficult to play but, we should be on fairway, right? :D Back nine has some interesting shots as well, like 1st two holes, but than its very challenging and quite boring. Anyway those days you can play there quite cheap and its affordable and definitely to visit, if you use on of the discounts, for the full price I would not go again.
