Characteristics

The Moliets Golf Course is a nice and interesting course, which impresses with manifoldness and variety. The hole 13 to 16 are situated on the dunes with view on the Atlantic Ocean. Fast, narrow greens challenge the golfer. It pays to rent a cart for the long ways between the different courses.

Parkland with 3 holes links feeling

Played on September 18th, 20124. The 18-hole course + 9-hole (PAR31) is located about 80km, or a good hour's drive north of Biarritz in the middle of a forest area. Except for the three holes directly on the Atlantic with links character, it is a classic parkland course. The clubhouse with restaurant (not in use) is rather functional. The guest toilets are a bit dated. The pro shop with reception is part of the clubhouse. Between green 9 and tee 10 you walk through a small, colorful holiday terraced housing development, otherwise the development of houses around the holes is rather discreet. As guests, we were served in a friendly manner. You have to allow about a 5-minute walk to the first tee. The course is slightly hilly. The paths between the tees can be a bit longer, so a cart can't hurt, although most players walk. The first 9 are called de Foret and the back nine Ocean. The tees are usually very open, but you should stay on the fairways, otherwise you risk losing the ball. The fairways are relatively straight or have slight doglegs. There are few direct water hazards. A highlight is hole 5 with a large lake and of course holes 13 to 15 by the sea, although apart from the tee on hole 13, there is nothing special about them. After the green on hole 12, you come out of the forest, walk towards the sea and the first thing you see are the dunes with the extremely light sand. Unfortunately, there are no toilets on the course. There is only a "rudimentary" toilet on the 10th tee. The condition of the course was not optimal on the fairways, with many bare patches. There is also a problem with wild boars, as there were several broken patches on the fairways, some of which were covered with nets. The sand in the bunkers was sometimes rock hard. Only the greens were mostly immaculate and also heavily undulated. Tee boards on the fairways make orientation easier. You have to reserve a tee time, which you can do online. When we played on a Wednesday morning and throughout the day, the tee times were almost fully booked. The playing time was 4.5 hours. The standard green fee in the season is €94, which is high in line with the regional rates. If you book online using the Landes Golf Pass, you get a 10% discount. The course is very nice and the courses by the sea are something special, but otherwise there are certainly better and more spectacular courses in the region. A good 3 stars, but not enough for 4.

Exciting Golf Course

We, HCPI 11 + 9, played here on 09/26/2022. Peter's description largely corresponds to our experience. In the meantime, the signage has been perfectly renewed. The quality of the whole area is commendable. We walked well on foot with a hand trolley, as did many locals. Unfortunately, some players lack etiquette and the game flow is very slow. Individual players also drive around with their carts at each hole on the front greens :-( We recommend playing here because the layout is fun.

varied golf - but with little orientation

beautiful classic golf course, partly embedded in a forest, partly along the sea. middle 4 * level. slightly hilly and undulating, the bunker (super sand) and the few water hazards are in the right place. the place is varied, good in the shot and makes you happy to play. negative: the course description / marking is almost non-existent. if you play here for the first time, you should team up with a local player, otherwise it will partly be a blind flight. and the place is very stretched, with long distances between the holes, but still good to cope on foot.
