Characteristics
Villamartin Golf Course, designed by Paul Putman, is situated within a mile of the sea between Torrevieja and Murcia airport at San Javier on the south eastern tip of the Costa Blanca. It is built on hilly ground with the front nine holes being at the highest point of the course offering some spectacular sea views. The second nine are situated more in valleys with brancas ( ravines ) coming into play on several holes.

The club does not have its own parking space and this must be found somewhere on the street. The entire infrastructure is in poor condition and calls for renovation work. After 3 hours we stopped at hole 9. The fairways and greens are OK.

The course is not particularly interesting, a typical field in urbanization with narrow fairways, and blind greens, conditions not good in general, disproportionate to the required fee.
Another consideration to make on the fairly simple club house but without dedicated parking, the car must be parked in the rather busy town street and then bag on the shoulder up to the cart, which is decidedly uncomfortable.
