Characteristics
In 1907 four English gentlemen founded the Menaggio Cadenabbia Golf Club under the direction of the banker Henry John Mylius and had a 9-hole course built in the village of Croce above Menaggio, which soon became a popular meeting place for all golf enthusiasts in the area. In 1919 land was bought and the course was expanded to 18 holes. In 1965 it was finally completely rebuilt by John Harris. The very hilly course is lined with tall trees and requires precise play. In addition to the restaurant, it is worth visiting the interesting golf library.

Menaggio golf course was an absolute delight. The greens and fairways are in top class condition. Worth noting that the people could not have been more freindly or more helpful to us. The facilities that back up the golf course are also first class, we enjoyed a top notch lunch in the very nice club house.
Obviously the views from the course are truly magnificent, the surrounding mountains and the lake make for doubly delightful backdrops.
The golf course itself is a good challenge for everyone playing it. I hit 86 playing off a handicap index of 13.6 (15 on course if i recall correctly) and for my first time going round the place i was happy with that. My favourite hole was 9. You had better be straight or you’re in trouble as it is tree lined and rises uphill quite sharply, on this occasion it wasn’t particularly kind to me (7).
In summary, loved the course, breathtaking views, great people and great facilities. Will defo recommend to everyone.

I played this course mid of May 2011. It was in perfect condition, very hilly, so even for a trained person a buggy might be a good choice. The holes are interesting to play and provide great views on the Dolomiti and the Lake Como. Old barns and some ruins with roses in front give a special atmosphere.
The Club House is a beautiful old building, the golf libary is very interesting, the service is perfect.
This course is a "must play" in the area of Como!

Very hilly course that needs to be played with care and precision. Baggy is advisable, but also possible on foot. Greens in very poor condition. We don't know whether wild boars are causing mischief there or whether drought is the cause of the many bare spots. Very fine restaurant in a stylish, old building.
Very steep and narrow access, impossible for motorhomes >8m. At 8m it's already borderline. However, a quiet place to stay overnight.
