Characteristics
The clubhouse and the testing golf course are situated at an elevation of almost 1,700 ft in the midst of the Habichtswald forest bordering the Park Wilhelmshöhe, which features more than 100 different types of tree and is thus the biggest mountain park in Europe. Several holes provide a view of the over 230-ft tall Hercules monument, the landmark of Kassel.
The monument, the Kurhessentherme spa, and the city of Kassel itself are only a few minutes away from the golf course.

At times you think you are in Scandinavia, so much nature and landscape meets you on the old golf course!
In bright sunshine, the Hercules monument standing at 530 meters high came into view at 2 and 3, that's something! The ingrown and very hilly golf course convinces with every hole with an extremely harmonious design. In order to be able to enjoy the Waldland golf course to the fullest, I also recommend a cart for trained travel golfers (who do not have e-trolleys with them). A real 5 star place!
Ps the fairways played perfectly, but were not in good condition. Certainly the hill tracks burn out particularly badly in the heat.

From Parkland to Woodland

Played in August 2018, the fairways were brown & were partially torn. the greens are in perfect shape and fast as an arrow (2 days before my visit here was a league game). Unfortunately, the dry fairways caused uncontrollable ball-roll: a drive ran me after about 100 (!) Roll slightly downhill out, my teammates came on another track his (too short) drive uphill again a few meters. Thus, more of a gambling game, where the balls remain.
Highlight for me, track 3 with tea-shot on the Hercules, otherwise no particularly spectacular tracks.
It's interesting that the course turns into a Woodland course from Bahn Park 10 to Parkland Course with a very long and narrow fairway.
3 railways are currently under construction, but the green fee was fairer reduced by 30%.
