Challenging, beautiful forest walk

A beautiful parkland, almost forest course. Visually wonderful, even if parts of the expansive ponds are unfortunately a little "grey".
It's wonderfully quiet the entire round - you often feel like you're all alone on the course, and you rarely have a glimpse of one of the neighboring fairways.
The game is not that easy, not only because of the dense forest on the fairway edges. There are plenty of water hazards - on almost every hole except 12 to 16, occasionally also frontally. From time to time there are challenging doglegs to overcome (lane 18 in particular is "crunchy"!). Bunkers, on the other hand, are usually only found in heaps near the green - but with a little skill they can be easily removed from the game. If you lie in it, you should be careful - there are some stones in the sand!
The greens are interestingly undulating - unfortunately the grass is a bit too high. The fairways also suffer from overgrown vegetation (“daisy syndrome”).
The course is not particularly hilly - it can be easily mastered on foot, a cart is not absolutely necessary.
The "trappings" are also consistent - the guest player receives a personalized scorecard including game specifications and maximum number of strokes per lane, as well as a small course overview on the green fee tag. Just useful little things that please the guest!
Conclusion: A feel-good golf course that is visually appealing and on which the game is a lot of fun - it doesn't get boring. Almost 4 stars, gladly again at any time! (In the "Golf Bear Ranking": 7 out of 10 points.)

Played on May 28,2020. The flat 18-hole course with an attached hotel southwest of Hamburg near Stade is in absolute tranquility and nature. The actual driving range and the practice area with the golf school are approx. 500 meters away from the course. On the course itself, however, there is a possibility of putting in and a putting green near the first tee. From the clubhouse itself you walk a few meters to there and you also walk a short distance to the first and tenth tee. The course itself impresses at holes 1 to 11 as well as 17 and 18 with its absolute parkland character, without the tees being too narrow due to the tall trees, so that even higher HC should be able to cope. On the way to the first and tenth tee you go through dense spruce forest. 18 also goes through this forest. You can almost smell the forest. A defining element of the course is water, which very often comes into play at holes 1 to 11 and 17,18 already mentioned, as well as many bunkers that defend the greens excellently without being unfair. There are always nice elements, such as a hedge over which you have to tee off on the third tee. The condition of our game was good. There were bald spots on the fairways every now and then, but the greens were in top condition. The bunkers and tees mostly well maintained. The club house with attached restaurant and pro shop made a good impression, the staff were very friendly. The green fee is reasonable at € 55 a week and € 65 on weekends. Whoever plays on Thursdays only pays 40 €. A surcharge for golfers without a hologram is not paid to promote golf. Start times can easily be booked online in advance via the homepage. The game was very busy on our Thursday afternoon but not overcrowded. The flow of the game was brisk, most members greeted friendly. It is worth taking the camera with you. If you are nearby, a round is absolutely recommended.
