Golden Eagle is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful and challenging courses in Portugal. It was designed by the world renowned architect, Rocky Roguemore, who conducted the design of the course to a spectacular standard throughout the 540 hectare 'Quinta' with each hole carrying its own individual characteristics as the course meanders its way through wonderful natural landscape of gentle rolling hills and pine trees.
The golf course comprises of a challenging par 72, with tees to suit all abilities, a beautifully manicured layout the course also has 9 lakes recently decorated with eye-catching sprays and fountains.

The course design is nice, but the condition of the fairways is more than bad. Surprisingly, the greens are good.
The space management is poor. So very late start times will be awarded, even though the place was not as frequented as good on a Saturday. Clubhouse closes at 17:00, golf reception at 18:00. (In May)!
Value for money is wrong. No recommendation.
The planned resort was never built and the existing buildings are not maintained.
