Iddylic surroundings

This course is quite straight forward and situated amongst the beautiful surroundings of the Japanese Cedar trees, in particular. It is quite flat and a lovely course to walk at the best of times. Greens are medium to small but importantly are pretty consistent from one to the other in terms of speed. Facilities are neat and very adequate with friendly staff. This course is good for the soul and you will leave in better spirits than when you arrived.

Beautiful, varied parkland course, very short distances between holes, friendly staff.
The tee shot on hole 18 is special because you are about 10 meters below the fairway.
Once we had to give up after 7 holes in the rain because we were completely soaked and the course had already turned into a lake landscape. A day later it was dry and playable given the previous conditions.
I can understand why the place was voted the second most beautiful in Portugal in 2014. Personally, I prefer it a bit more than Batalha.

The course itself convinced by the quite varied design of the holes, the interesting (wavy) greens and beautiful nature.
That hole 15 is also used as a driving range, is special, but quite practical and clever. And with the few golfers on the course no problem.
The condition is ok, but nothing more. On our day it drizzled permanently. Sliced grass clung to clubs and shoes and was bundled up to the green.
The trolleys are quite new, the clubhouse certainly not. The old tube TV shows new golf channels, but is not the only relic from better times. Whether the clubhouse has ever sprayed charm? Certainly not during our visit. In sunshine, this may be different?
The lady in the barren Proshop, however, was a real ray of light. Friendly and even very communicative for local conditions.
That we met on our otherwise quiet round a 6-flight with Scandinavians, was somehow a bad joke. Not more...
If you want cheap green fees (62 instead of 72 EUR), you should book online. Attention: Works depending on the provider only with 24/48 hours lead, but otherwise works flawlessly.
