Excellent parkland course
5.0 of 5 starsReviewed February 1, 2011
Very close to the nice city of Hasselt you can play this parkland course.
Not very long but enough challenge with waterhazerds along the course.
Best to play in spring-summer time with many trees in their blossems.
Very good greens and nice golfshop with a large choice

Solid 27-hole
4.0 of 5 starsReviewed October 12, 2021
Played on October 11th, 2021 (18-hole and 9-hole course). The flat facility (cart not required) is about 60 km behind the German border, coming from Aachen, a little north / west of Maastricht. From the E314 motorway you can get to the site relatively quickly via a couple of well-developed expressways. The tracks are basically designed to be varied. The big highlights are missing, but there are easy doglegs, a few water hazards, also in the form of streams through the lanes, and there are one or the other ingrown trees (by the way, I wouldn't call the place real parkland), whereby most discounts are open and therefore higher HC should be able to cope. If you stay halfway on the fairways or at least the first and second cut, there is also no very high rough where you lose balls. There are always four tees to choose from, which are at least marked on the 18-hole course, not with white / yellow / blue and red, but with numbers. The river Demer divides the square and you go several times over various small bridges. Due to the proximity to one of the expressways, it is not always quiet, especially on the Backnine. One or the other power line also goes over the square. Nevertheless, you can enjoy the diverse nature. The 9-hole course (PAR 33.6x PAR 4.3x PAR 3) is also not uninteresting. Lanes 7 to 9 in particular are real challenges here. On hole 8 you play about 15 meters high on the green to the side with a stream in front of it. On lane 9 there is then the only raised tee of the system. The condition of the railways was basically in order. The fairways with little foreign growth and most of the mowed by the "automatic" greenkeeper. The greens had one or the other, sometimes larger, bald spot, but were still playable. The relocation of the tees away from the worn areas is often exemplary. Despite the rain the day before, the sand in the bunkers was loose and perfectly prepared. The game operation on an initially overcast, then slightly sunny and dry Monday afternoon was manageable. As a single player, I was able to play through from the 1 to the 18 and then also the 9-hole course without meeting in front of or behind me. There are tee times that you can also view and book as a guest after registering with i-Golf Belgium. If you book, you also have to pay directly by credit card, but you also get a € 5 discount. Once booked, you can only postpone the start time by phone or email. The regular fee of € 60 on weekdays for the 18-hole course and € 20 for the 9-hole course when booking online is reasonable. From 4:30 p.m. there is a sundowner. The green fee can also be paid in the ProShop. This is currently housed in a separate building next to the clubhouse. The clubhouse seems to be new. At least the secretariat has not yet been set up there. The sanitary facilities and restaurant (not in use) with a raised terrace facing the 9th and 18th green are very modern. The employee in the ProShop was friendly and briefed me. At the first tee you shouldn't be confused, as the first two tee-offs of the 18-hole and 9-hole courses are next to each other. The holes of the 9-hole course are always marked with the letter a in addition to the number. You can also see the difference in the fact that there are “only” tee posts with numbers, stroke index and length information for the championship course, while there are visual tee boards for the 9-hole course. On the 9-hole course you have to be careful not to tee off from the 5 after the 2nd hole. For lanes 3 and 4 you first have to go past tee 5 and then over the Demer bridge. There is a driving range where you tee off from mats. A couple of metal boars are set up there as a target! Overall, I can recommend the game at the Hasselt Golf Club or Flanders Nippon Golf Club.
