The Desert Miracle

That was the name given to Emirates Golf Club, Dubai, when it became the

first all-grass championship golf course in the Gulf region, way back in 1988.

His Highness General Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum’s brainchild

still inspires awe amongst all who play its verdant green golf courses, as well

as those who simply visit its unique and ageless clubhouse designed to reflect

a Bedouin tented village with seven gleaming white concrete and glass

structures, complemented by the natural desert flora and fauna.

Interesting night golf!

I was playing here on 30st of December, during the day, and on First of January, starting at 18,55. Both of them were on WADI GOLF COURSE. I saw a fox on the 5th hole, but only in the evening, not during the day. It wasn't any discussion about stink, or something. Everything was very well maintained and game's pace was very ok. The mareshall was perfectly honest and it was such a nice experience. The noise wasn't disturbing at all, the buggies were very ok, the facilities were very well maintained, even I was just a little bit dissapointed by the driver's mat for driving range (absolutely, I would preffer grass) .
Pro : try to play during the day on MAJLIS, and during the night on FALDO course. Another one : Red metro station NAKHEEL is just 50-100 meters to the golf course, you don't need a taxi.
CON : DO NOT buy anything from the golf shop from the clubhouse (there is a MAJLIS golf shop near the putting green, too) because they will try to cheated you! It was so low, as I won't play again there. Completely despicable, for me...
But, except these cheatters from GOLF SHOP, everything was very ok.

Faldo good place / Majlis too expensive

Played on 3/12/2023. The 36-hole course of the Emirates Golf Club is located in the south of Dubai, in principle directly opposite the Palm Jumeirah, behind the partly 14-lane expressway/motorway E11, which runs through Dubai from north to south. At least on the Faldo Course this can be clearly seen and, above all, heard. At the beginning of each year, a DP World or European Tour tournament takes place on the Majlis Course. You drive in the guarded entrance and briefly tell the security guard that you have booked a tee time for golf. The parking spaces in front of the clubhouse are divided into members and guests. If you want, you can also have your car washed while you're on the round. At the Bag Drop Off you can hand in your bags in advance. The clubhouse is modern and sophisticated. When you come in there is a reception which then sends you down to the golf reception. There is again a subdivision according to members and guests. The lady at the guest counter was very friendly and was happy to explain the process. The pictures of the victorious professional golfers with trophies from the last few years hang in the spacious men's locker room. Start times should definitely be booked in advance via the homepage or the VIJA app. The app also gives you special rates such as early bird or 2:1. We paid €155 per person for the round on the Faldo Course as an early bird. The cart is included (caution: do not leave any food uncovered in the cart, the crows are smart and watch the players, while you are on the green your cart and bag will be plundered) and balls on the range. As a guest on site, as on all golf courses in Dubai, you still have to pay AED 10.5 for a fee to the golf association. After you have paid, the cart with the bags is already at the driving range. The hustle and bustle was big when we visited, but well organized. It was full in both places on a Sunday morning. The start was every 10 minutes, one flight of four after the other. The game was still relatively quick. There are plenty of restrooms and service stations along the route where you can buy drinks and snacks.
The Faldo Course is pleasantly laid out, usually without villas around it and is the easier of the two courses. But there are enough challenges due to some water hazards, waste areas and well-placed bunkers. However, the really big highlights are missing. The challenge are the partially heavily undulated and fast greens. There is a risk of three putts at every hole. The condition was impeccable. It's not the course's fault if the players in front of you don't rake the bunkers and don't clear the pitch marks and dives. We didn't play the Majlis Course anymore due to time and cost reasons. The green fee is outrageously high and there are no real discounts. The normal green fee via the VIJA app costs €313, with a discount at certain times it is still €267. A sundowner is not offered. Even if it is tempting to play a course where the pros play every year, but due to the variety of courses in Dubai we preferred to play the rest of Dubai courses.

Faldo very well

Have played Faldo, were skeptical about the last reviews. But space is in great condition (02/26/2023). Clubhouse, Marshalls, Range, all perfect, super polite. We'd love to come back.

In addition to the normal round, they also added 9L night golf, well, you have to like that. It's funny for once, but we'll probably do without it.
