The Desert Miracle

That was the name given to Emirates Golf Club, Dubai, when it became the

first all-grass championship golf course in the Gulf region, way back in 1988.

His Highness General Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum’s brainchild

still inspires awe amongst all who play its verdant green golf courses, as well

as those who simply visit its unique and ageless clubhouse designed to reflect

a Bedouin tented village with seven gleaming white concrete and glass

structures, complemented by the natural desert flora and fauna.

Interesting night golf!

I was playing here on 30st of December, during the day, and on First of January, starting at 18,55. Both of them were on WADI GOLF COURSE. I saw a fox on the 5th hole, but only in the evening, not during the day. It wasn't any discussion about stink, or something. Everything was very well maintained and game's pace was very ok. The mareshall was perfectly honest and it was such a nice experience. The noise wasn't disturbing at all, the buggies were very ok, the facilities were very well maintained, even I was just a little bit dissapointed by the driver's mat for driving range (absolutely, I would preffer grass) .
Pro : try to play during the day on MAJLIS, and during the night on FALDO course. Another one : Red metro station NAKHEEL is just 50-100 meters to the golf course, you don't need a taxi.
CON : DO NOT buy anything from the golf shop from the clubhouse (there is a MAJLIS golf shop near the putting green, too) because they will try to cheated you! It was so low, as I won't play again there. Completely despicable, for me...
But, except these cheatters from GOLF SHOP, everything was very ok.

Expensive tour feeling but you should play the Majlis once

Played on March 21,2025. After playing the Faldo Course two years ago, this time the Majlis Course, a venue for the DP World Tour/European Tour, was on the agenda. I am therefore adding this predominantly flat, yet challenging course to my review. The Majlis Course is a real challenge – even from the front tees, which are highly recommended especially for higher handicaps. A certain basic length is required to safely reach the fairways from the tees. Hole 8 is particularly impressive, offering spectacular views of Dubai's skyscrapers – undoubtedly one of the highlights of the round. Water hazards repeatedly come into play, while high rough is almost non-existent. Instead, numerous strategically placed bunkers pose a challenge. The tees are mostly open, and the dogleg on the 18th, with the final shot towards the clubhouse, is another highlight. It's a special experience to play on the course where Rory McIlroy and his friends tee off every year – and where Tiger Woods once played too. Another practical point: you can end your round after 16 holes, as you pass the clubhouse at this point. The condition of the course was excellent overall – with one exception: the bunkers. The sand was far too hard, making it almost impossible to get a decent shot at the ball. A disappointing point, especially considering the high green fees. The greens were fast, but not exceptionally fast, as one would expect from other courses in the Emirates. The service was fine, and the staff were consistently friendly. However, you notice that a large number of golfers are processed here every day, which occasionally leads to delays. The clubhouse is modern and luxurious, with air-conditioned restrooms even on the course. As a guest, you receive a branded water bottle that can be filled with water free of charge at every other hole. The carts are equipped with GPS and towels. At tee 1, the starting flights are called by name over the loudspeaker, creating a real professional tour feel. We booked our tee time using the VIJA app, which occasionally offers discounts. Nevertheless, the price of approximately €300 per person (despite the €50 discount!) was simply excessive – the course isn't really worth it, but demand determines the price here. Tee times should definitely be reserved in advance. The course was completely booked on the day we played, and this was evident from the overcrowded guest parking lot. However, the playing time of just over four hours was acceptable. If you want to experience the feeling of a professional tour, this is the place for you. However, some players sometimes create a somewhat snooty atmosphere, which isn't to everyone's taste. Personally, I prefer it quieter, more relaxed, and less expensive, which is why the Majlis Course will remain a unique experience for me. One star deducted for the hard bunkers and the overpriced green fee.

Faldo Course

First class

We played this great course in February. 4-er HCP +1 - -11 so doing well. We are always looking for challenges. We found them here. Course in top condition for the time of year. Very friendly reception and nice infrastructure.
Extremely friendly members at H1 who let us go first. Friendly people on the way who showed us the way. Fast, undulating greens, first-class fairways and well-maintained bunkers. The price is absolutely reasonable for what is on offer. Our recommendation for every discerning golfer! A must, hole 10, our favorite.
