Characteristics

The par 71 course that measures 6,857 yards is a memorable journey from the first tee to the 18th green. The superbly manicured fairways are undulating, demarcated by mounds, date and palm trees, and most other times by water. Apart from the Creek, which comes into play on at least four holes, several artificial lakes add to the beauty and difficulty of various other holes.

The presence of multiple tees ensures that golfers of all calibres enjoy their day out at the course. While length of the tee helps, the premium is certainly on accuracy, especially with the approach shots as most of the greens are multi-tiered with subtle borrows.

The Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club course sets up for a thrilling finale to a round with its two par 4 closing holes. The 17th and 18th have the Creek guarding the entire left side of the fairway. While the 17th can still be conquered with some smart play, the 18th requires mandatory cerebral involvement on every shot. There is water on the left and a long bunker on the right, beyond which is water again. A good drive will still leave you with a long iron into the tiered and sloping green, which is guarded at the front and right by a body of water.

Fabulous course

We played the course in march 2013. Fantastic overall impression. Very kind staff at reception, first marshall that was not just complaining and looking to spped up people but rather asking if everything is ok and if we were enjoying the course.
Fairways were very well maintained but tough greens (more our problem than the course!), beautiful layout, especially hole 17 and 18 are a stunning finish.
Overall, definitively a must do if you play in dubai.

Too bad about the short playing field

Yes, unfortunately the small par 3 course has fallen victim to a housing development. The par 3 course was also equipped with floodlights and was ideal for training.
The layout of the championship course has not suffered as a result.
But with a green fee price of € 265, you would expect to get decent trolleys and not old, worn-out ones borrowed at short notice by members.
Course maintenance as always very good, greens true but not too fast.
However, the bunkers, some of which are huge and deep, are very hard and contain little sand, which is unfortunately a disadvantage.
Staff very friendly, restaurant good, due to the current renovation or construction of the residential complex, the square is no longer visible from the terrace, which is a shame.

Bad luck with the greens

Played on January 23rd, 2024, very varied course. A bit noisy as car noise could be heard all around. Fareways and bunkers in perfect condition.
It was unfortunate that day that the greens had just been sanded, making it very difficult to control the speed of the putts.
