Characteristics
Located in the foothills of an ancient volcano and with breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean, this golf course is maintained and ready to be played all year round. Designed by British landscape architect John Harris and built in 1978, it is located 5 minutes away from the most important hotels in Costa Teguise and its beautiful beaches. Teguise is an 18 holes Par 72 golf course. The course runs along the side of an old volcano, set within an inspirational landscape of volcanic lava, cacti and palm trees. The course is designed to be both smooth and varied. Its numerous doglegs are demanding and require the use of all clubs. It even represents a challenge for professional players, while offering an attractive and enjoyable game for less skilled golfers. The fairways are surrounded by over 3,500 palm trees.

Good place, bizarre landscape

Very, very nice secretary and nice caddy master prepared us for a challenging round of golf in strong winds.
The driving range is rustic, as are some of the tees on the course.
Fairways could be improved a lot, bunkers difficult to play because we weren't used to the lava sand. The waste areas were littered with lava rocks and the clubs were put through quite a bit of strain at times.
Greens relatively quick, slightly undulating, but with a few bare spots.
Beautiful hole 13, a par 5,510 m long from white, with a frontal view of the sea.
The course is difficult to play in strong winds, with a headwind or strong crosswind felt on every hole and that with a length of 6,109 m, par 72.

Great place, super nice team with outstanding services.
At our desired tea time in the morning, we were even able to choose whether we would rather go on the round as a 2-person flight or together with other members in the flight. The course was in good condition and very well maintained. All bunkers are well hooked, the fairways and greens are juicy and fast.
Plus the great panoramic views of the Atlantic and our AidaNova.
The weather changed several times from beautiful sunshine to short heavy rain showers and there was a strong to stormy cool wind.
Only the speed of the game was a bit sluggish due to a very slow flight of 4 older men playing in front of us, who probably thought it was degrading to play through. Due to the many beautiful views, this did not detract from the round.

Played on December 5,2022 - St. Nicholas round... The bad ratings from the Corona period are really in the past. Tees, fairways and the greens were absolutely fine. It is actually self-evident that no leading golf course can be created on an island like Lanzarote -> the course is all the more appreciative. With its interesting layout, the course is even considered "not easy" to play in stronger winds... even if the lengths of the individual fairways are rather short. All in all a very nice and enjoyable day of golf. We will be back!
