Passable golf course

We are a group of golfers with worldwide golfing experiences. Handicap -10 through -20. Played the course yesterday. It was in good shape even though the days before it was quite rainy. In fact the greens were excellent. Four of us booked buggies. They were quite frustrated because no buggy paths were indicated. They were forced to back up lots of times because the buggies stopped as they entered forbidden areas. But you could not tell which areas were forbidden. Those of us who walked were a lot faster than our friends in the buggies. In the end, you are better off walking the course. However, you have to put up with a couple of holes, which are quite steep. And some holes are
”un-holes”. Overall rating: it is an OK course.

Now 18 holes

The course has been expanded to 18 holes, with new holes featured at the highest point of the course. Steep course to walk in the heat, advise that you play during cooler parts of the day.

Light and Shadow

Son Servera

The reception is very friendly, from the office to the pro shop (which has a huge selection of clothing, logo items, and everything else you might need) and the caddy master; you really feel welcome here.
The carts aren't too old and are equipped with GPS. Since this is unfortunately no longer a given, I emphasize that the carts are properly equipped with water, a scorecard, a marker, and tees.

While the first nine were reasonably exciting (especially holes 4,5, and 7), the back nine was rather boring. The fairways are wide and fair, the greens are very fast, as is the case everywhere on the island, and the course is scenically attractive. In some places, the greens and tees are in poor condition and should be significantly improved. I really liked the screen by the restroom on hole 7, which allowed me to see the previous flight, since you can't see the hole from the tee. For me, hole 7 was definitely the most spectacular and exciting.
One starter wasn't present, and we didn't see the marshal the entire round; he could have at least ensured a smooth game flow. There were once again many forced waiting breaks that day!

As everywhere in Mallorca, the fees are now very high and in my opinion too high in Son Severa for what is on offer.
There are better places and for a few € more it is definitely worth playing Alcanada

The restaurant and its wonderful terrace are truly top-notch and invite you to linger. The service here is also very friendly and the food is truly good and substantial. Typical Mallorcan dishes are served here, as well as the usual club sandwiches, etc.

Conclusion: Well-intentioned 3⭐️ in the overall view
