...we lived in the resort back then as the review below shows.
Now we have played a round here again.
We know the course designer Joe Lee very well and we value his work very much. He built more than 70 courses in Florida and 30 in Georgia.
Joe Lee (1921-2003) from Florida is a very renowned golf course architect who is hardly known to the wider golf scene, but he has built or renovated more than 250 courses worldwide.
He worked with the famous Dick Wilson - later for him. Lee was surprisingly anonymous for his significant work until the death of Dick Wilson in 1965.
The creation of five top courses long used by the US PGA Tour - Blue Monster (Doral Miami) and Bay Hill (Orlando), which was purchased by Arnold Palmer in 1976, in Florida; LaCosta (Carslbad Callfornia);
Cog Hill (Chicago) and Warwick Hills (Detroit) are thanks to his work.

We really like the course, nine holes have water involved - sideways or frontally. There is no shortage of bunkers, many that are perfectly placed are easy to play. We liked the greens, some of them were very tricky.
The course serves just over 350 meters of hole-back tees. The par 3s are rather moderate in length, but the six par 4s are really tricky.
The maintenance is worlds better than on our first visit!!!

The billboard always screams when we drive west (Naples) on the IS75 - the Alligator Alley. It reminds us of an annoying stay in Florida.
We had booked a week at this resort, with the anticipation of two in-house golf courses.
The frustration started on the day of arrival.
In the age without GPS, we let the Rental Car employee mark the location on the map. He made that on the northern side of the IS75, where today is a RV area. For more than an hour we turned around in the dark until we found the exit and moved to the south side.
