Characteristics

The Nick Faldo Golf Design project at the Amendoeira Golf Resort is an 18-hole, is a championship standard golf course and is designed with strategic play in mind. Nick Faldo, who will be non-playing captain of the GB & Ireland / Europe Ryder Cup team in 2008, is confident that his course is set to become a very special addition to the region’s burgeoning collection of golf courses. The Faldo Amendoeira Golf Course will demand careful positioning to score well. Rocky outcrops, meandering watercourses and views to the distant mountains and orange groves define its essential character.

Not inpressad at all

I’m a scratch player and I come here with my wifi. She’s a 14 hcp. My honest review of this course can boiled down to ” to long, and much to narrow ”
You are playing Holes that are 440 meters from yellow tee (par 4)?? I normally hit 240-260 m off the tee, but event so, it was still very diffucult. Spoke with one of my friends whos Been playing on the european tour. He Said that he was wondering how faldo (that favored precission, could put his name behind this course) Its simply not a course for the average golfer, more likely for the tourplayers. So sorry to say, but extremely long, to many bunkers, and Every hole is eleveted one way or the other.

Overrated

We played both courses (Faldo and o'Connor) 5 years ago. The service was exceptional back then (our bags were picked up from the car and distributed to the buggies), drinks were provided and a starter was very nice. This time, none of that was the case. The paths between the holes are sometimes very long and steep. The fairways look very brown, even though it had rained a lot. Luckily, we only paid half the green fee (€163.00). We didn't see any toilets.

Disappointing

Booked with great anticipation as I had played here with friends 5 years ago with great enthusiasm and am now totally disappointed.
Starts at the cart/service along the paths/course and ends at the clubhouse (you can get beer at the bar…).
Advised all other players at the time not to play a round - says it all!
Actually played better courses in the area (02/25)
